Her first art show and sale was in 1991 in Nixa, Missouri. The second was in 1991 in Tucson, Arizona and the pace was set.
Shenandoah Winery presented her as featured artist in Plymouth, California in 1997 and again in 2002. In 2004 Bagle Winery in Clarksburg featured her all watercolor show, "Grapes, Etc.". Her most recent accolade was as featured artists in the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center. During the years 1993-2000 she shared featured billings at various galleries mostly in Northern California.
Shirley has been active in community service programs. She was a founding member of the Elk Grove Fine Arts Festival and Elk Grove Fine Arts Center. She is a member of the Elk Grove Artist Association and supports their many programs.
